Weihai

In Shandong province

Weihai is a clean, green coastal city on the eastern tip of the Shandong Peninsula, facing the Yellow Sea across from Korea. It is known for its fresh seafood, mild sea air and Liugong Island, a historic naval base and site of the 1894-95 Sino-Japanese War memorial. Repeatedly recognised as one of China's most liveable cities, it draws visitors for its beaches, parks and relaxed pace. Weihai also has strong fishing, marine-industry and tourism sectors and a growing trade link with South Korea.
