Taiyuan Normal University, formed in 1999 from earlier colleges, is a teacher-training and comprehensive university in the Shanxi capital of Taiyuan. It trains teachers across the humanities, sciences, education, geography and the arts, and is noted for its geography and Fenhe-basin studies. It serves the schools of central Shanxi.
