Henan Kaifeng College of Science Technology and Communication is a private undergraduate institution in Kaifeng, the ancient capital on the Yellow River in eastern Henan. It was founded in 2003 as the Minsheng College of Henan University, an independent college whose newer campus adjoins Henan University's Jinming campus; in 2009 Henan University signed a co-building agreement with the Henan Daily Press Group, the province's flagship newspaper publisher, and on 2 February 2021 the Ministry of Education approved the college's conversion into a free-standing private institution under the present name, wholly held by the press group. That ownership explains the school's unusual media identity: schools of communication and of converged media anchor the catalogue, with internship bases at the Henan Daily and dozens of partner companies, alongside twelve teaching colleges in total covering information engineering, art, design, economics, business, humanities, foreign languages, medicine and physical education. Forty-six bachelor programmes span nine discipline categories; the college reports one provincial key discipline, four provincial specialty programmes and more than 15,000 students, with professors and associate professors making up over half of the teaching staff. Teaching is in Chinese and enrolment is domestic.
