Jiangsu University of Science and Technology in Zhenjiang is one of China's foremost universities for shipbuilding and naval architecture, a specialty it has cultivated since 1933. Long affiliated with the national shipbuilding industry, it excels in naval architecture, ocean engineering, welding and materials, and marine equipment, and trains many of the engineers who staff China's shipyards. The university spans engineering, science, economics, management and the humanities, with additional strengths in silkworm and sericulture science inherited from a merged institute.
