📖 About the university

Tibet University in Lhasa is the highest-altitude comprehensive university in the world and the flagship institution of the Tibet Autonomous Region, established in 1985. As a Project 211 and Double First-Class university, it leads national research on Tibetan language and culture, plateau ecology, and the biology of high-altitude environments. It plays a unique role in preserving and modernizing Tibetan studies, art and traditional medicine while training professionals for the region. The university spans the humanities, sciences, medicine, engineering, ecology and management. It welcomes students from across China and abroad who are drawn to its unrivalled setting and distinctive academic focus on the Tibetan Plateau.
