📖 About the university

Sichuan Police College was founded in Chengdu in 1950 as a public-security school under the Sichuan provincial government, and after being suspended and re-established several times it relocated to Luzhou in 1956; it was reconstituted as Sichuan Police Officer Higher Vocational College with Ministry of Education approval in 2000 and upgraded to full undergraduate college status as Sichuan Police College in 2006. Sponsored by the Sichuan provincial government and jointly managed by the provincial public security and education departments, it is the only comprehensive full-time undergraduate institution in Sichuan dedicated to political-science, law and public-security education, and it was the first provincial police college in China to offer professional master's degree education in policing. The college's campus is located in the Jiangyang district of Luzhou, a city in southeastern Sichuan, and it offers nine undergraduate majors, including Investigation, Public Order, Public Security Management, Counter-Narcotics Studies, Criminal Science and Technology, Traffic Management Engineering, Cybersecurity and Law Enforcement, Law, and Safety Protection Engineering. Its early achievement of master's-level authorization distinguishes it among China's provincial police colleges and reflects a comparatively advanced academic profile for an institution of its type. Sichuan Police College continues to serve as the principal training ground for police officers across the province, alongside broader research into public-security theory and practice.

🌆 About Luzhou

Luzhou is a city in southeastern Sichuan province, situated at the confluence of the Yangtze and Tuo rivers, and it is one of China's most important centres of baijiu production, home to renowned distilleries such as Luzhou Laojiao. It has a humid subtropical climate with hot, humid summers and mild, foggy winters typical of the Sichuan basin, and its riverside setting has made it a historic port and trading city. The city blends traditional distillery culture, evident in preserved Ming and Qing dynasty fermentation cellars, with a modern chemical and liquor-industry economy and a growing higher-education sector. Luzhou is known for its spicy Sichuan cuisine, its riverside parks and pagodas such as Baota, and its position as a gateway to nearby scenic areas of southern Sichuan. It is connected by rail and a regional airport to Chengdu, Chongqing and other major cities in the region.
