📖 About the university

Ningxia Medical University, founded in 1958, is the only medical university in the Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region and the main trainer of doctors for this Muslim-majority area of northwest China. Alongside clinical medicine, basic medicine, public health and pharmacy, it is distinctive for its research and teaching in traditional Hui ethnic medicine. Its affiliated general hospital is the largest and most comprehensive medical centre in Ningxia. The university enrols a notable number of international students, including many from Muslim countries, in its English-taught MBBS programme. Located in the oasis capital Yinchuan on the Yellow River, it offers medical study in a region with a strong Hui Muslim culture.
