Shanxi University of Finance and Economics in Taiyuan is the leading finance and economics university of Shanxi Province, with a history dating to 1951. It concentrates on finance, accounting, economics, statistics and management, and supplies much of the financial and administrative talent for Shanxi's coal-and-energy economy as it diversifies. Its accounting and statistics programs are well regarded across northern China. The university operates campuses in Taiyuan and enrols a large student body, maintaining exchanges with foreign partner institutions.
