📖 About the university

Inner Mongolia Technical College of Mechanics and Electrics is a full-time public higher-vocational college located in the higher-education park of Hohhot, the capital of the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, and administered by the regional Department of Education. It traces its history to the Inner Mongolia Industrial School founded in 1952, was upgraded to a higher-vocational college in 2003 under its present name, and absorbed the Inner Mongolia Water Conservancy School in 2006. The college occupies a campus of around 837 mu with a planned enrolment of about ten thousand students, and it is a predominantly engineering-oriented institution. It is organised into teaching departments covering mechatronic engineering, electrical engineering, metallurgy and materials engineering, water resources and civil and architectural engineering, information and management engineering, and public administration, offering around forty-eight programmes. Reflecting Inner Mongolia's resource and heavy-industry economy, it is particularly strong in mechatronics, electrical automation, metallurgy and water-conservancy engineering, and it supplies skilled technicians to the region's manufacturing and infrastructure sectors. As an applied vocational college it enrols primarily domestic students and does not currently advertise a dedicated Chinese-language pathway for international applicants.
