The Beijing Dance Academy (BDA), founded in 1954, is the only higher-education institution in China devoted entirely to dance and is regarded as the country's 'cradle of dancers'. It teaches Chinese classical dance, Chinese folk and ethnic dance, ballet, contemporary dance, choreography and musical theatre at the highest level.
