North China University of Water Resources and Electric Power in Zhengzhou is a leading Chinese university for hydraulic engineering, water resources and electric power, founded in Beijing in 1951 and later relocated to Henan. It has an especially deep tradition in water-conservancy and hydropower engineering, contributing to major projects such as the South-to-North Water Diversion. The university is jointly built by the province and the Ministry of Water Resources and hosts national and provincial research platforms. Its academic breadth also covers civil engineering, electrical engineering, geotechnics and management.
