📖 About the university

Shandong Medical College is a full-time public medical higher-vocational college sponsored by the Shandong provincial government, with a main campus in Linyi and a second campus in Jinan. The Linyi campus grew from a branch of Qingdao Medical College established in Yishui in 1966, which became the Yishui Medical Specialised School in 1972, relocated to Linyi in the 1980s, and was renamed Shandong Medical College in 2004; the Jinan campus descends from the Shandong Provincial Health Cadre School founded in 1954 and was merged into the college in 2005. The college is organised into around ten teaching departments, including Clinical Medicine, Stomatology, Nursing, Medical Laboratory Technology, Pharmacy, Medical Imaging, and Health and Rehabilitation. As a dedicated medical college, it trains large numbers of clinical assistants, nurses, pharmacists and allied-health technicians for the healthcare systems of Shandong and beyond, and it maintains affiliated and teaching hospitals to support clinical training. It is one of the province's principal medical vocational institutions. As an applied medical college it enrols primarily domestic students and does not currently advertise a dedicated Chinese-language pathway for international applicants.
