Minzu University of China is a national public university in Beijing, founded in 1941 and directly administered by the National Ethnic Affairs Commission. It is the country's leading institution devoted to the study of China's ethnic minorities, and is designated under both Project 985 and Project 211 as well as the Double First-Class initiative. Its greatest strengths are in ethnology, sociology, anthropology and the languages and literatures of China's minority peoples, fields in which it holds national top rankings. The university draws students from across all of China's ethnic groups and maintains a distinctive multicultural campus in the Haidian district.
