📖 About the university

Xi'an Shiyou University, founded in 1951, is the only university in northwest China specialised in the petroleum and natural-gas industries. It offers petroleum engineering, petroleum geology, chemical engineering, mechanical engineering and materials, with close ties to China's oilfields and energy companies. It has trained many of the petroleum engineers of the northwest. Its campus lies in the ancient capital of Xi'an. The university welcomes international students interested in petroleum and energy engineering in northwest China.
