📖 About the university
Engineering University of the Chinese People's Armed Police Force is a military engineering university in Xi'an, Shaanxi province, built on the site of the ancient ruins of the Efang Palace. It was established in 1983, with approval from the State Council and the Central Military Commission, as the Armed Police Technical Academy; it was renamed the Armed Police Engineering Academy in September 1998 and reorganised into its present university status in July 2011. It is the earliest institution within the People's Armed Police to offer both undergraduate and postgraduate education, and it remains the only Armed Police academy authorised to grant doctoral degrees. The university is distinctive for combining command and technical training with integrated engineering and management education, and it trains officers for engineering, information security, and technical-support roles within the People's Armed Police Force. Its location in Xi'an places it among a cluster of military academies in the city, benefiting from shared access to the region's defence research institutions. As a specialised institution training Chinese armed police officers, it does not offer general international student admission.

🌆 About Xi'an
Xi'an is the capital of Shaanxi province and one of the world's greatest ancient cities, serving as the eastern terminus of the Silk Road and capital to numerous Chinese dynasties. With a metropolitan population of around 13 million, it remains encircled by a complete medieval city wall that is among the best preserved in China. The climate is temperate, with hot, humid summers and cold, dry winters. Its landmarks are extraordinary, above all the Terracotta Army on the outskirts, along with the Big Wild Goose Pagoda, the Bell Tower, and the ancient wall itself. Xi'an also has a large Hui Muslim community centered on the lively Muslim Quarter, where halal food and mosques are abundant, making it especially welcoming for Arab and Muslim students. Local specialities include roujiamo, hand-ripped biangbiang noodles, and yangrou paomo lamb soup. A growing metro, Xianyang International Airport, and high-speed rail connect it to Beijing, Chengdu, and Lanzhou. For an international student, Xi'an blends deep history, affordable living, strong universities, and one of the most halal-friendly environments in China.
