📖 About the university
Beijing Police College traces its history to a public-security school established by the Beiping Municipal People's Government in April 1949, shortly before the founding of the People's Republic of China, and after passing through several successive institutions, including the Beijing Municipal Police School and the Beijing People's Police College, it took its current name in 2006. The college is affiliated with the Beijing Municipal Public Security Bureau and serves as the capital's dedicated base for training applied policing talent, theoretical and practical public-security research, and continuing education for serving officers. It offers three undergraduate majors, Investigation with a Public Security Intelligence track, Criminal Science and Technology with a Cybersecurity and Law Enforcement track, and Public Order, alongside two higher-vocational specialties in public order management and road traffic management, with bachelor's programs following a four-year curriculum. Over its history the college absorbed several other Beijing police training institutions, including the Beijing Municipal People's Police School in 1997 and the Beijing Second Municipal People's Police School in 2001, consolidating police education resources for the capital into a single institution. As Beijing's principal public-security college, it plays a central role in preparing new generations of police officers for one of the largest and most closely watched police forces in China.

🌆 About Beijing
Beijing is the capital of the People's Republic of China and its political, cultural and educational centre, home to imperial landmarks such as the Forbidden City, Tiananmen Square, the Temple of Heaven and sections of the Great Wall in its surrounding mountains. The city has a monsoon-influenced continental climate with hot summers and cold, dry winters, and it combines a vast historic core of hutong alleyways with a modern skyline of business districts such as the CBD and Zhongguancun, China's leading technology hub. Beijing hosts more top-tier universities and research institutes than any other Chinese city, drawing students and scholars from across the country and around the world, and it is the seat of the central government, major state ministries and countless national cultural institutions such as the National Museum of China and the National Centre for the Performing Arts. Its cuisine is famous for Peking duck and old Beijing snacks, and the city offers rich cultural life through its museums, hutong neighbourhoods, and traditional teahouses alongside a cosmopolitan, fast modernizing urban environment. An extensive subway network, two major international airports, and China's densest high-speed rail connections make Beijing exceptionally well connected to the rest of the country and the world.
