📖 About the university
Qingdao Vocational and Technical College is a public higher vocational college in the coastal city of Qingdao in Shandong Province, and was among the first group of national demonstration higher vocational colleges in China. It was established in October 2000 on the basis of Qingdao Workers' University, which dated from 1977, and in April 2002 it merged with Qingdao Education College, founded in 1951, to form the college in its present shape. The campus occupies about 540,000 square metres in Qingdao, a port and tourist city known for its German-era architecture, beaches and the Tsingtao brewery. More than eighteen thousand full-time higher vocational students study there across fifteen secondary colleges, departments and teaching units. A distinctive feature is its deep partnership with local industry, most visibly the Haier School of Home Appliances run jointly with the Qingdao-based Haier Group, one of the world's largest household-appliance manufacturers. It also runs a School of International Cooperation that manages joint programmes with foreign partners and the enrolment of international students, making it a practical option for students who want vocational training in an attractive seaside city.

🌆 About Qingdao
Qingdao is a major seaport and coastal city in Shandong province, known worldwide for its beer, beaches, and distinctive German colonial architecture. With a metropolitan population of around ten million, it wraps around the Yellow Sea coast with red-roofed old quarters and modern skylines. Its maritime climate keeps summers mild and humid and winters cold but moderate, without the harsh extremes of the interior. Landmarks include the iconic Zhanqiao Pier, the leafy old villas of Badaguan, the Tsingtao Beer Museum, and Mount Lao on the outskirts. As a coastal city it is prized for fresh seafood and its world-famous Tsingtao beer. A modern metro network, Jiaodong International Airport, and high-speed rail connect it to Jinan, Beijing, and Shanghai. For an international student, Qingdao offers sea air, an attractive setting, respected universities, and a relaxed yet cosmopolitan seaside lifestyle.
