📖 About the university
Fuzhou Technology and Business University is a private full-time undergraduate institution at 1 Xueyuan Road in Geling town of Yongtai county, in the green hill country southwest of Fuzhou, the capital of Fujian. It was founded in 2002 as the Dongfang College of Fujian Agriculture and Forestry University, the independent college of the province's main agricultural university, and in 2019 the Ministry of Education approved its independent establishment under the present name — one of the earlier conversions in the national reform of independent colleges. The campus in Yongtai is planned on 1,309 mu with about 800 mu built out and more than 230,000 square metres of buildings, and the school teaches close to 9,000 students. As its new name signals, the catalogue centres on commerce: business administration, accounting, financial management, international trade and e-commerce lead, with information technology, logistics, languages, design and tourism-related programmes attached — the last a natural fit for Yongtai, a designated national eco-tourism county. The motto is bright virtue, honest wisdom, broad learning and innovation. Teaching is in Chinese and enrolment is domestic, drawn mostly from Fujian and neighbouring southeastern provinces.

🌆 About Fuzhou
Fuzhou is the capital of Fujian province, a historic port city on the Min River facing Taiwan across the strait. With a metropolitan population of around eight million, it blends a well-preserved old quarter with a fast-modernizing economy and is a hometown to many overseas Chinese. The climate is humid subtropical, with hot, humid summers and mild winters. Its signature attraction is the Three Lanes and Seven Alleys historic district, alongside Gushan Mountain, West Lake Park, and the old Mawei shipyard that pioneered China's modern navy. Fujian cuisine is delicate and seafood-rich, most famously the luxurious Buddha Jumps Over the Wall, along with springy fish balls and lychee pork. A growing metro network, Changle International Airport, and high-speed rail connect it to Xiamen, Hangzhou, and Shanghai. For an international student, Fuzhou offers a comfortable climate, affordable living, strong universities, and a laid-back coastal southern lifestyle.
