📖 About the university

Xinjiang Tianshan Vocational and Technical University is a private bachelor-level vocational university in Urumqi, the capital of the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region in far western China, at the heart of the Silk Road. It began in 1993 as a training centre established by a local company, became Xinjiang Tianshan Vocational and Technical College in 2004, and in 2020 was formally established as a bachelor-level vocational university with approval from the Ministry of Education, as one of the country's pilot institutions for private vocational undergraduate education. The university operates a main campus and a campus in the Kizilsu region, together covering around 1,300 mu, and is organised into seven schools offering about twenty vocational bachelor programmes and forty-one higher-vocational programmes. Its programme portfolio emphasises applied technology, including big data engineering, modern communication engineering and intelligent manufacturing, alongside tourism, aviation service, preschool education and accounting. Its core strengths lie in big data engineering, communication engineering, intelligent manufacturing and tourism management. It suits students seeking hands-on, technology-focused vocational bachelor education in northwestern China.
