📖 About the university

Shandong Police College traces its origins to the Shandong Police Officer School established in May 1946, making it, according to its own history, the first police school founded by the Communist Party of China, and after decades of development, including a period as Shandong Public Security College from 1983, it was upgraded to full undergraduate college status as Shandong Police College in 2004. The college is jointly administered by the Shandong Provincial Department of Education and the Shandong Provincial Public Security Department, and it is based in Jinan, the provincial capital, across two campuses at Mingshui and Wenhua East Road with a combined area of about 1,600 mu. It offers eight undergraduate majors, Investigation, Public Order, Criminal Science and Technology, Economic Crime Investigation, Traffic Management Engineering, Cybersecurity and Law Enforcement, Public Security Intelligence, and Domestic Security Protection, and is authorized to confer bachelor's degrees in both law and engineering. As Shandong's leading public-security higher-education institution, it plays a central role in supplying trained police officers to one of China's most populous provinces, alongside continuing education for serving law-enforcement personnel. Its long institutional history and dual-campus structure reflect its status as a well-established pillar of police education in eastern China.

🌆 About Jinan

Jinan is the capital of Shandong province, known historically as the City of Springs for the many artesian springs that bubble up within the city itself, including the famous Baotu Spring and Daming Lake. It has a temperate continental monsoon climate with hot, humid summers and cold, dry winters, and its old town blends spring-fed canals and gardens with a fast-growing modern skyline along the Yellow River. As Shandong's provincial capital, Jinan is a major centre of government, education, finance and manufacturing, hosting numerous universities and research institutes and serving a province that is one of China's largest by population and economic output. The city is known for Lu cuisine, one of China's eight great culinary traditions, along with its clear-water scenery, Buddhist and Confucian heritage sites nearby such as Qufu, and a growing number of parks built around its natural springs. Jinan is well served by high-speed rail links to Beijing and Shanghai and by an international airport, making it a convenient base for study in eastern China.
