Henan Institute of Technology is a provincial public undergraduate university located in Xinxiang, an industrial city in northern Henan Province. Founded in 1975 as a workers' college, it developed into Henan Mechanical and Electrical Engineering College and was upgraded to full undergraduate status in 2016. The university has an engineering-centred profile, complemented by management, economics, arts and the humanities, with more than sixty programmes. It carries out international education and exchange alongside its applied engineering focus.
