Xi'an University of Science and Technology is a public university in the ancient capital of Xi'an, focused on mining, energy and safety engineering, with roots in the mining department of the former Northwest Institute of Technology dating to 1958. It is nationally recognized for coal-mining engineering, mine safety, geology and the safe development of energy resources in western China.
