📖 About the university

Chongqing Vocational University of Electronic Technology is a full-time public vocational-bachelor's university located in Chongqing, and in May 2024 became the municipality's first public undergraduate-level vocational university. The institution was founded in 1965 and developed as Chongqing College of Electronic Engineering before the Ministry of Education approved its establishment as Chongqing Vocational University of Electronic Technology on that basis. Its first vocational-bachelor's majors include information security and management, Internet of Things engineering technology, integrated-circuit engineering technology, modern communication engineering, big-data engineering technology and intelligent connected vehicle engineering technology. The university is organised into eight substantive secondary colleges, namely Artificial Intelligence and Big Data (Cyberspace Security), Electronics and Internet of Things (Integrated Circuits), Communication Engineering, Intelligent Manufacturing and Automotive (Aviation), Digital Economy and Management, Digital Technology and Design, Materials and Environmental Engineering, and Smart Health, alongside functional units for general education, international education, Marxism and physical and defence education. A national demonstrative higher-vocational college, it is one of the strongest electronics- and information-oriented vocational institutions in southwestern China. As an applied vocational university it enrols primarily domestic students and does not currently offer a dedicated Chinese-language pathway for international applicants.
