📖 About the university

Chongqing University of Arts and Sciences is a public undergraduate university hosted by the Chongqing Municipal People's Government and located in the Yongchuan District of Chongqing. Its predecessors, Chongqing Normal College and Yuzhou Education College, were founded in 1976 and 1972 respectively; the two merged into Yuxi College in 2001 and the institution was renamed Chongqing University of Arts and Sciences in 2005. The university operates two campuses, Honghe and Xinghu, covering about 1,767 mu, with a library holding some 2.87 million volumes. It is a multidisciplinary institution with schools spanning materials science and engineering, electronic information engineering, landscape architecture and life sciences, education, and economics and management. Its recognized strengths include materials science, electronic information, landscape architecture and teacher education, supporting the industrial and cultural development of western Chongqing. Chongqing University of Arts and Sciences admits international students and offers Chinese-language study opportunities.
