Built in 1901 during the era of the Chinese Eastern Railway, the station marks the point where the Yalin railway branches off from the Binzhou railway, and is a second-class passenger-and-freight station. The station square still preserves a Russian-built water tower over a century old, originally used to supply steam locomotives with water.
