Shanhaiguan has no metro. The station is within walking distance of the 'First Pass Under Heaven' and the old Shanhaiguan Great Wall town; a taxi or local bus also reaches nearby Laolongtou beach.

Traveller notes
Opened in June 1894 (Guangxu era), one of China's oldest stations and a key interchange between North and Northeast China. A new north building (4,400 sqm) was added in 2004 and a south building (6,100 sqm) in 2017; the station roof echoes the design of the famous nearby 'First Pass Under Heaven' landmark.
