The station is inside the Longshan urban district. Liaoyuan has no metro; use city buses or a taxi/Didi.

A second-class station built in 1927, with the current station building rebuilt in 2003, on the conventional Simei and Liaokai lines (the Siping–Meihekou line is single-track and non-electrified). Trains here are conventional, not high-speed; for high-speed travel travellers normally connect via Siping or Meihekou.
