Hongjiang has no metro. Taxis/Didi and local buses wait outside for the ride into town or to the nearby historic Qiancheng old town. Note: an older, slower station, Qiancheng, on the Jiaoliu railway also lies within Hongjiang's city limits.

Traveller notes
Opened on 26 December 2018 with the launch of the Huaihua–Hengyang high-speed line, the station has a roughly 6,000-square-metre building with two platforms and five tracks. It formed part of what became known as Hunan's new high-speed rail "golden triangle," giving Hongjiang fast connections to Huaihua and Hengyang.
