Originally built in 1925, the station underwent a major renovation from 2020–2021 that expanded the building to about 11,998 sqm — four times its former size — with room for around 3,000 passengers at once. It sits on the Hegang and Hebei railway lines, and the upgraded Jia-He railway, opened 26 December 2022, cut travel time to Jiamusi to just 44 minutes and to Harbin to about 3 hours 33 minutes.
