Hailin has no metro. The station is inside the city's own town; use city buses or a taxi/Didi to reach the nearby Snow (Xue Xiang) resort area or downtown.

Built in 1901 on the historic Binsui (Harbin–Suifenhe) railway, this is an old station managed by the Harbin railway administration. Hailin is a major gateway to Northeast China's famous snow-mountain region, and the city also has a separate Hailin North station on the Harbin–Mudanjiang high-speed line for travelers who prefer the faster option.
