Traveller notes

In service since 1 December 1998 with the Korla–Aksu section of the Southern Xinjiang railway; it handles both passengers and freight. A key stop on the southern Silk Road route between Korla and Kashgar; halal food is widely available. Practical note: Xinjiang local timekeeping runs about two hours behind Beijing time, but rail tickets are always issued in Beijing time.
