📖 About the school
Founded in 1909 as Taiyuan Women's Normal School, it was formally renamed Taiyuan Foreign Language School in 1984 with municipal government approval. It is one of only 17 foreign-language schools nationally recognized by China's Ministry of Education, carrying the right to directly recommend graduates to universities. Since 2010 its senior-secondary international class has partnered with Jenison High School in Michigan, USA, layering Western elective courses onto the Chinese curriculum and giving students a dual pathway toward domestic or overseas university admission.
