📜 About & history
The Xiguan (West Gate) Mosque is the principal mosque of central Zhongwei, serving the Hui community of Shapotou District. A large 1990s rebuild once carried a green dome and twin minarets; under the mosque-sinicisation programme after 2019 the dome and minarets were removed and replaced with a Chinese-style flat roof. It remains an active place of worship.
