The Puhaddin complex on the east bank of the ancient Grand Canal holds the tomb of Puhaddin, an Arab missionary said to be a sixteenth-generation descendant of the Prophet Muhammad, who came to Yangzhou during the Southern Song Xianchun era and founded the Crane Mosque. He died in 1275 and, by his wish, was buried on the canal's eastern bank. The walled grounds contain his domed tomb, the gravestones of other Arab and Persian Muslims, and a working mosque for the faithful. It is a nationally protected relic and a key monument of Islam's arrival by sea into China.

Yangzhou has no metro; city buses stop near Jiefang Bridge and Wenchang Middle Road. Check Amap or Baidu Maps for route numbers.

From Wenchang Pavilion head east along the canal to Jiefang Bridge; the garden entrance is on the south side of the bridge, on the east bank.
