📜 About & history
Pudong Mosque traces its origins to 1935, when Muslims who had migrated to Shanghai built a small prayer room in the Lujiazui area; the mosque was formally completed in 1939 and rebuilt nearby in 1947. During the Cultural Revolution it was used as a school, then reopened for worship in 1985. With the rapid development of Pudong it was relocated, and the current mosque on Yuanshen Road was completed on 28 March 1999. It covers 1,650 m² with a 2,250 m² building and a 36-meter minaret, and was renovated and expanded in 2009 ahead of the World Expo.

Open for the five daily prayers; the congregational Friday (Jumu'ah) prayer is held around midday. Confirm times locally.

- Line 6 Yuanshen Stadium （源深体育中心）
- Line 14 Yuanshen Road （源深路）
Local Pudong buses stop near Yuanshen Stadium along Zhangyang Road and Yuanshen Road; check a transit app for the closest stop.
From the old-town Muslim quarter near Fuyou Road, walk to Yuyuan (Line 14) and ride Line 14 east directly to Yuanshen Road (about 25 minutes).
From People's Square take Line 2 to Century Avenue, change to Line 6 and ride to Yuanshen Stadium (about 25–30 minutes); the mosque is on Yuanshen Road nearby. Line 14 Yuanshen Road is also close.
