📜 About & history

Also called Macungou Mosque, it dates to the early Ming Hongwu era and is regarded as the oldest mosque in Bengbu, established when Muslim Li, Qian, Hui and Hu families migrated from Shaanxi, Henan and Shandong. It was expanded in the mid-19th century, and in 1906 (late Qing) its thatched halls were rebuilt in tile-roofed form.
