Xigong Mosque is an Arab-style mosque in Luoyang's Xigong District, first initiated in 1940 by Ba Qinghai, a native of Xingyang, Henan, on its original site at Beixin Street. The main hall was destroyed by Japanese bombing in 1944, and after 1956 the mosque moved to Nanxin Street where it was repeatedly occupied. Following the restoration of religious policy in 1988, it was rebuilt in two phases between 1989 and 1994 through government grants and community donations at its present location. Its main hall, ablution rooms and other facilities survive, with the entrance plaque carved by Ba Qinghai's son.
