📜 About & history
Founded in the Ming Hongzhi era (around 1488) at the meeting of the Grand Canal and the Wei River, the Northern Mosque was rebuilt in 1564 and again in the Qing Qianlong and Jiaqing eras. Its 20,000-square-metre compound holds 86 structures including a moon-viewing tower, a main prayer hall, lecture halls and a bathing house. It is counted among the four great mosques of the Yangtze north and was made a National Key Cultural Relic in 2001.

🚇 How to reach the mosque
Local Linqing city buses stop near the canal-side old town; ask for Qingzhen Bei Si.
From Linqing centre it is a short taxi ride to the canal old town; Liaocheng city is about 40 km east, reachable by intercity bus then taxi.
Halal beef and lamb restaurants cluster in the surrounding Hui neighbourhood. Chinese spoken. One of two adjacent national-grade historic mosques in Linqing.
