Laowang ('Old Wang') Mosque was founded in the early Ming dynasty and later enlarged with a donation from a man surnamed Wang, from whom it takes its name; it is one of the historic Bafang teaching-ward mosques. It was burned in the 1928 destruction of the Bafang district and repaired between 1931 and 1933, then demolished during the Cultural Revolution. Rebuilt from 1983 to 1987 in Chinese classical style, it comprises a prayer hall, a scripture-teaching hall and an awakening pavilion (minaret). The main hall can hold about 1,500 worshippers, and it was listed as a Linxia municipal cultural relic in 2006.

Within the Bafang Muslim quarter; a few minutes' walk from Nanguan Grand Mosque and the Shisan Xiang lanes.
On Wangsi Street inside the Bafang old town; about a 10-minute walk from Hongyuan Square.
Paired with the nearby Xinwang (New Wang) Mosque; both take the Wang family name. Ask a driver: 请带我去清真老王寺
