Kowloon Mosque was first established in 1896 to serve Muslim soldiers of the British Indian Army stationed in Kowloon, and was completely rebuilt in 1984 with support from Hong Kong's local Muslim community and Islamic organisations, becoming the territory's largest mosque. Located on the famous Nathan Road in the heart of the busy Tsim Sha Tsui commercial and tourist district, it serves a diverse Muslim population of South Asian, Chinese Hui, Arab, African and other residents and visitors.

Open for the five daily prayers, with multiple Friday Jumu'ah sessions to accommodate large crowds; extensive ablution facilities are available. Non-Muslims may visit the entrance area to inquire, though the main prayer hall is reserved for worshippers, and modest dress is required.

There is no dedicated Arab quarter, but nearby Tsim Sha Tsui and Chungking Mansions host numerous halal restaurants and shops run by South Asian, African and Middle Eastern Muslims.

About 15-20 minutes via the Cross-Harbour Tunnel or Star Ferry from Hong Kong Island (Central) to Tsim Sha Tsui, then a few minutes' walk along Nathan Road.
