📜 About & history

Korla's largest and best-known congregational mosque, built in 1981 on Tuanjie (Unity) Road in the city centre. The main prayer hall rises about 20 metres, with a 136 sq m call-to-prayer room and a total floor area of roughly 734 sq m, its ceilings and walls decorated with traditional Uyghur patterns. In recent years the domes, minaret and arched window surrounds were removed and the mosque was renamed the Unity Road Mosque.

Central Korla on Tuanjie Road, walkable from most downtown hotels; a taxi from the railway station takes about 10-15 minutes.

Uyghur and Hui halal restaurants line the surrounding streets. Uyghur, Chinese and some Russian spoken.
