The Muslim community of Lianyungang traces back to a mosque built by Hui members of the Xu family in the twelfth year of the Guangxu era (1886), south of the Chelun River. The present mosque in Haizhou District was rebuilt starting in October 1985 and formally opened on 6 November 1986, in Arabic architectural style. Covering about 1,100 square metres across a three-storey building, it houses a prayer hall, ablution facilities, a meeting room, a halal restaurant, an ethnic guesthouse and imam's quarters, serving as the main religious centre for Hui Muslims in this Jiangsu coastal city.

🚇 How to reach the mosque
Several city bus routes stop along Jiefang West Road in Haizhou District.
There is no dedicated Arab quarter; Hui Muslims and visitors head directly to the mosque for Friday prayers.
The mosque lies within Haizhou District, Lianyungang's historic old town, a short taxi ride from the city centre.
