Fenghuangshan Mosque was established to serve the Hui Muslim cemetery on Phoenix Mountain in Chengdu's northern outskirts, in use since 1952 where most Hui Muslims who die in Chengdu are buried. It is one of the five mosques within urban Chengdu, alongside Huangcheng, Gulou, and the two Tuqiao mosques.

Suburban bus or taxi to the Fenghuangshan area in northern Chengdu (Jinniu District).

Smaller than the four central Chengdu mosques and mainly serves the adjacent cemetery; the downtown Huangcheng Mosque is the main open place of worship. Chinese spoken.
