The Daxinzhuang East Great Mosque is the largest and most completely preserved ancient mosque surviving in northern Henan (Yubei). Islam reached the area with Yuan-era Hui settlers of the Shan, Bai, Mai, Dan and Ding clans. Originally built at Shangshengzhuang on the east bank of the Dan River at the southern foot of the Taihang Mountains, it was moved to its present site in Daxinzhuang in the early Qing after flooding.

🚇 How to reach the mosque
No metro. From Jiaozuo or Boai county town, take a local bus/taxi to Xuliang Town, Daxinzhuang village.
A rural Hui village mosque; the local Hui community rather than transient traders forms the congregation.
In the countryside northwest of Boai county town toward the Taihang foothills; taxi recommended.
Nearby Sangpo village (Mengzhou) and Boai are historic Hui centres known for leather and halal food. Rural setting; confirm access locally.
