The Xuchang City Mosque, whose Ming-dynasty prayer hall (dadian) survives on Jukui Street in the old town, is the historic mosque of Xuchang's urban Hui community in central Weidu District, which has a Hui population of over 11,000. The prayer hall is a Xuchang municipal protected cultural relic.
