Chendai Mosque is located in Chendai Town, Jinjiang, home to the Ding clan of Hui people whose ancestors came from Arab lands via the Maritime Silk Road. The mosque was formally completed in December 1991 with a total building area of about 494 square meters, blending traditional Chinese and Islamic architecture, and opened in 1993. It quickly became a center of Islam in the Jinjiang and Shishi area.
