Zhuji

In Zhejiang province

Zhuji is a county-level city administered by Shaoxing in central Zhejiang, best known as the legendary hometown of Xi Shi, one of the Four Beauties of ancient China. It is China's largest freshwater pearl production and trading centre, supplying the majority of the world's cultivated pearls. The Wuxie waterfalls and forested hills give it a scenic setting, while a stop on the Hangzhou–Changsha high-speed line keeps it well connected. For an international student, Zhuji offers a prosperous small-city pace, pearl-industry commerce, and easy access to Hangzhou.
