Huaibei

In Anhui province

Huaibei is a coal-mining city in the far north of Anhui, near the borders with Jiangsu, Shandong and Henan. Once dominated by mining, it has reclaimed subsided pit land into the scenic Nanhu National Wetland Park. The ancient town of Linhuan is famous for centuries-old teahouses where locals still gather over 'stick tea.' The city is the home of the renowned Kouzi Jiao baijiu brand. Mount Xiang on the western edge offers temples and hilltop views over the old urban core.
