Chibi

In Hubei province

Chibi is a county-level city administered by Xianning in southeastern Hubei, on the south bank of the Yangtze. It takes its name from the legendary Battle of Red Cliffs of AD 208, when the allied forces of Sun Quan and Liu Bei defeated the much larger army of Cao Cao in one of the most celebrated engagements of the Three Kingdoms period. Cliff carvings and battlefield sites draw history lovers, and the region is a centre for pressed 'brick tea' once traded along the ancient route to Russia. For an international student, Chibi offers legendary history, riverside scenery and a stop on the Wuhan–Guangzhou high-speed line.
