A memorial area in Ma'an Town, Yilong County, the birthplace of Marshal Zhu De, a founder of the Red Army and the first commander-in-chief of the People's Liberation Army. Its core covers about 5.6 sq km and includes three nationally protected heritage sites and eleven provincial ones, chief among them the mud-walled farmhouse where he was born in 1886, the old school he attended, the Zhu De Memorial Museum and the bronze statue park. The setting is the hills, fields and traditional villages of north-eastern Sichuan. It is a national 5A scenic area.

🎟️ Ticket priceFree admission to all sites since March 2008; the sightseeing shuttle inside the area costs about 20 yuan per person.
